Department Quality Commissions

ACADEMIC UNIT QUALITY COMMISSIONS (QCs) AND THEIR DUTIES

According to Article 10 of the Mersin University Quality Assurance Directive, quality commissions in academic units shall:

1) In faculties, institutes, and schools, they shall be chaired by the Dean/Director. They shall consist of at least five members, including faculty members, the academic unit secretary, and a student representative, provided that different branches of science are represented in the institute and that all programs are represented in faculties, schools, and vocational schools.

2) A commission shall be established to represent application and research centers. The QC Commission shall consist of at least five members, including one chair, appointed by the Rector from among the center directors. The Chair shall appoint a vice-chair from among the members. The QC Commission shall be announced on the websites of all application and research centers.

ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT QUALITY COMMISSIONS (ADQCs) AND THEIR DUTIES

According to Article 13 of the Mersin University Quality Assurance Directive, quality commissions in academic units:

They consist of at least three unit employees, chaired by the relevant unit head, responsible for organizing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and accreditation activities for all administrative units included in the university's organizational chart.

The duties of the Academic Unit Quality Commission (Article 12 of the Directive)

(1) To ensure the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of the quality assurance system in line with the Academic Unit's strategic plan and objectives,

(2) To prepare the Academic Unit Internal Evaluation Report,

(3) To provide the necessary support for certification activities conducted by external institutional and program evaluation bodies, as well as for improvement efforts undertaken in this context,

(4) To communicate the Commission's decisions to the relevant departments and program subunits of the relevant unit, to ensure their implementation, and to monitor their results,

(5) To submit the activity and evaluation reports requested by the Commission to the Commission according to the schedule determined by the Commission,

(6) To carry out other necessary work in accordance with this Directive and the procedures and principles determined by the Commission.

The duties of the Administrative Unit Quality Commission (Article 15 of the Directive) are:

(1) To monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality assurance system in line with the Administrative Unit's strategic plan and objectives,

(2) To prepare the Administrative Unit Internal Evaluation Report,

(3) To provide the necessary support for certification activities conducted by external institutional and program evaluation organizations,

(4) To announce the Commission's decisions, ensure their implementation, and monitor their results,

(5) To submit the activity and evaluation reports requested by the Commission to the Commission according to the schedule determined by the Commission,

(6) To carry out other necessary work in accordance with this Directive and the procedures and principles determined by the Comm
